So it looks like Samsung did listen to the consumers as Galaxy S6 was a little disappointment when they announced that the Smartphone will no longer be waterproof, have SD Card and have removable battery. Well Samsung has changed that, well most of it. The new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are almost identical to S6 but now they are Waterproof and they accept microSD card to store up to 200GB of photos and videos. Unfortunately battery is still not removable but it did receive a upgrade to 3000mAh. INternal memory will stay at 32GB which should be sufficient. As we know 16GB was simply not enough to work with.

We did see drop in megapixel of the front camera but Samsung promises that it will take batter pictures.  To those that take photos for a living know that Megapixels are just a number and the quality is what matters. In addition to better pictures Motion Photo was introduced. This takes photo of moving objects, it captures a few seconds of video each time you take a picture and allows you to go thru the stills of the video and choose the best one to keep as photo.

Lets also not forget that if you Pre-Order the new Galaxy S7, Samsung will give you VR Headset with Games for free. So if you are planning a upgrade you may want to do it early.

 Prices vary by carrier but you you can expect to pay around $694 for Galaxy S7 and $794 for Galaxy S7 Edge. Some carriers like T-Mobile will add a Year of Netflix for free to the pre-order deal.

Samsung-VR-Headset-GearSo the specs are a lot better on Galaxy S7 then the specs on Iphone 6S but is it better?. We know its better than 6S because its newer but there is no real comparison as Iphone 6S is older and Apple Iphone 7 will most likely be extremely competitive to make sure they don’t lose customers to Samsung. But will it become waterproof like Galaxy S7 is unlikely.

So if you are a Galaxy S5 owner, this is really good time to upgrade as it is a major upgrade from Galaxy S5. If you are a Galaxy S6 owner then you may want to think twice about upgrading as there is not that much change to make you want to upgrade. Now the specs look really good and we are sure this is nice competition to Galaxy and Iphone, but unfortunately Samsung Galaxy S7 will be announced soon and we don’t know what it will bring to the table. The one thing that we know for sure the ZenFone Zoom will turn heads especially since its price tag is only $399. The down side why it will not become to popular is because it is going to be sold exclusively by B & H Photo. This exclusive deal will attract photographers rather than all users. I don’t think photographers will complain at all. Yet we all know that photographers stick with pro gear, so will they pick up the ZenFone Zoom? Time will tell.

Samsung has announced its all New high-quality metal frame, luxury look and feel Galaxy Alpha Smartphone. If we dint know any better Samsung is going after the soon to be announced Apple IPhone 6 4.7” Screen Size phone. From the rumors we have heard Alpha phone will look a lot like IPhone 6 4.7-inch version.

The Galaxy Alpha has metal Frame just like IPhone 5S and IPhone 6, Slimmer design just like the new IPhone 6 will have, No Micro SD slot just like IPhone 6. Same screen Size of 4.7 inch just like the IPhone 6.

Depending on which rumors you hear first, someone is trying to copy someone. Unfortunately  for Apple, Samsung got here first  and that is what matters.

There are new information from Apple that it may delay the release of IPhone 6 because of late design changes in the IPhone 6 Display Screen. Apple may delay the release or will have delivery shortages. This means that if apple continues with current lunch date there will only be limited amount of Iphone 6 available to the public.

There are a lot of rumors and Concepts designs for the New IPhone 6  that should be announced sometime this fall if everything goes right. There are great photos and videos of what the next IPhone 6 will have and might look like but they are done by Great Photoshop masters and most likely will not make the cut. We all know what we want to see but we also know we will not see it. There is only so much a company can create in a short time. Remember that designing a phone is one thing, but then there is: will it work?, is it user friendly? and the last manufacturing which all takes time. A lot of people speculate that Apple will release something cool because they have filled many patents. The truth is that Apple just likes to patent everything just in case, that does not mean that they will execute on it. Remember the rumors of IWatch patent? 2 years later and we might finally see the IWatch. It is definitely a question if Apple IPhone 6 will deliver the next big thing this year. Apple has reduced using Samsung parts mostly do to the patent war over the last few years. Apple has struck a deal with TSMC to produce chip for Apple, but will TSMC produce quality parts as Samsung did for years? . One thing that we know we we will like is that the New IPhone 6 will have IOS 8 and the same IOS will end up on older generations phones. Jailbreak hack will not be available for the IOS 8 for at least few months, so please remember not to updated your older phones to IOS 8 if you want to have Jailbroken phone, you should wait till it  is available once again or you may lose it.

Developer options is used to root your device. If you are going to install a custom ROM or want to root your phone. Then, for this purpose, you have to enable the Developer Options in your device. Normally, this option is hidden away from the average users of the phone, but you can avail this option easily through following some guidelines.

 

The very first step is to find the build number of your device in settings. This option may be found under settings section. But for different devices, you have to tap different options to reach build number. In Stock Android devices, you have to simply go to Settings, then to About Phone and there you will find build number.

 

In Samsung Galaxy S5, you can find build number in About Device option buried under Settings menu. In LG G3, you can trace build number from About Phone, then System Information and there will be Build Number. In HTC One, you can get build number option by going to Settings Menu, then to About option and then to More option in System Information.

 

Extra options for Developers on android SmartphoneAfter finding the build number section in your device. The next step is to tap on the section for 7 times. When you will tap for 2 times, there will be a pop-up notification appeared which will tell you that you are N number of steps away from being a Developer. After taping for N numbers, you will get the Developer Option. The developer options can be normally found in main settings menu like enable USB debugging.

 

So, are you willing to get rid of this developer options now, then you can do that by setting your phone to factory reset. There are few phones available which can wipe out these settings without wiping the while device completely.

You have heard of fake apple accessories such us fake IPhone cable, charger sand headphones. Some of the fake cables are so well made that it is hard to tell apart.  But have you recently bought a USB 3.0 Cable.

USB 3.0 is fairly new to most people but it has been around for over six years now, its just that now more and more computers and devices starting to use the technology. USB 3.0 is in a way a USB 2.0 except it supports super speeds up to 10X faster that a USB 2.0. The USB 3.0 makes transferring files  a lot faster, especially between a USB 3.0 Flash Drive like PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 drive (P-FD64GTBOP-GE) and a Galaxy S5 which also supports USB 3.0

Recently I bought few USB 3.0 Cables from eBay and I mostly used it as a Charging cable but one day I wanted to transfer photos of my Galaxy S5 and to my surprise it was taking forever. I did transfer photos off the phone before with the original Samsung USB cable but as far as I could remember it was pretty fast, and now extremely slow.

Same day one of the cable broke and I was trying to fix it and I saw that there were only 4 cables connected and not 9 like it supposed to be. Now I knew that the eBay seller sold me a fake USB 3.0 Cable. The cable looks like a USB 3.0 which is indicated by the Blue connector but in fact it was just standard USB 2.0 Cable.

Allot of companies have large stocks of USB 2.0 Cable but there is no more demand for it. In order to minimize their loses they started to replace the ends so that they look like USB 3.0 and adding them to existing 4 wire cables just so that they can unload their inventory. Luck for us there is now a way to tell if you have purchased a fake USB 3.0 Cable, Take a look in the Video.

Amazon Fire Phone can’t compete with big boys

For Amazon it is not the next Big thing but a step forward. The newly release Fire Phone a first Smartphone from Amazon is different but not as great as Amazon thought it would be. It took Amazon nearly 4 years to build their first phone.  And maybe the problem with the phone is that its 4 years late.

The Fire Phone is different than your average phone those days, it definitely has some really cool features but as a Smartphone it can’t compete with giants like Apple and Samsung.

We dint have a Fire Phone to play with so we cant give you a good review, but we can tell you few cool thing about the phone and few not so cool.

Amazons first Smartphone at a first glance looks like mini Fire tablet, and if you look closely thats what it is with some extras.  To be so late in the game you would figure that Amazon would take all the mistakes from the other phone manufacturers and make sure that they don’t do the same.

Firefly is definitely cool and my favorite feature, it is sort of a like QR scanner, Shazam and Laser Scanner combined on steroids. Take a object in front of the camera and Firefly scans it and find it. Amazon is one of the biggest market places for books, music and pretty much anything that you can buy. Amazon took that and made Firefly their own Amazon search engine.

The main features in Fire Phone are the 3D effect Dynamic Perspective which is cool. Dynamic Perspective is A custom-designed sensor system that responds to how you hold, view, and move your phone. 4 Sensing cameras follow your head movement to hive you the effect, but at the same time probably dr5ain battery very well and even give you motion sickness like IPhone did.

Mayday is not new, it has been around on Fire Tablet but now it is available on your phone. I got to give Amazon credit when it customer service , Amazon is great. Free, live, on-device video support 24×7.

Amazon specs say we can get speed up to 300 Mbps with channel bonding, but that is not true. The phone supports that but AT&T does not and will not allow you to use that feature in the phone since AT&T is the exclusive Cellular carrier for Fire Phone

Fire Phone price is similar to Galaxy S5 and Iphone 5S, In my opinion that is too much, after all the phone is good but not that great.

The phone its self is little bulky and has glass in the front and the back, rubber on the side. If one thing Amazon should know is that glass breaks and does not look good. Apple IPhone back is also glass and we all know what happened. IPhone on the other hand is smaller that Fire and is protective case friendly where Fire is already bulky and adding a protective case will make it even bulkier.

Free unlimited cloud storage – Amazon is not the first one to offer free unlimited clud storage, but as we know that is only temporary.

So far what we noticed is that the battery and the sim card are pre-installed and are not user accessible.  We also noticed that the Fire Phone OS is Android based and has Android apps and tools but Google might have been left out.

We think that the phone has few really cool features that will turn few heads but it will not win over Galaxy and IPhone fans.

Sources Suggest that the Next IPhone 6 Will come in two Sizes, 4.7 inch model that will be release early in  August and a second model with 5.5 inch screen to be released in September. Apple is trying to compete with Samsung after their success with Galaxy’s Bigger Screen.
